Shortly before 10 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, troopers conducted a traffic stop on the interstate on a 2008 BMW in Southeast for a vehicle and traffic violation, leading to the drug charge for Hempstead resident Vladamir Revil, 37 and Queens resident Jessica Sylvester, 34.

During the stop, police said that there was an open bottle of liquor in plain view, and a bag of cocaine was spotted when Revil reached over to open the glove box to retrieve his vehicle registration, prompting further investigation, which revealed a bag of cocaine with an estimated 313 grams of the drug.

Both were arrested and charged with first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A-I felony, and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony. Following arraignment, Revil and Sylvester were both remanded to the Putnam County Jail without bail. Both are due back in the Town of Southeast Court later this year to answer the charges.
